Surgical Revamping After Breast Augmentation: Is It Necessary?

We often hear that some people will still undergo another breast surgery after they had undergone breast augmentation. But mostly, women who had been on the same procedure are lucky enough on their first time whereas some will have to undergo surgical revisions after years of undergoing implants. They have to do this to address some issues that happened along the line and to maintain the desired look.

Revisions are more complex procedure than the first time it was done, that is why it is a must that you go to a qualified and experienced plastic surgeon to ensure that you will not face any complications and that you will have the best look ever. However, these are the common issues why most women return to their surgeon after the breast augmentation.

•     In due time, breasts will sag and no one can control it or even the best plastic surgeon. It is a fact that at certain point in a woman’s life breast will be affected by the force of gravity. This may happen though after a decade or two.
•     There are times that scar tissues started to build up around the area of the breast implant. The thick layer around the area of the breast implant called the capsular contracture is a common issue that must be removed. When this is present, the b breast usually feels hard, the shape become distorted and there is a painful feeling. Another breast surgery may be advised so that the scar will be removed.
•     Some are not happy with the size of the augmentation of the breast, most often women will complain of their breast being small; therefore they will have to undergo another procedure that will increase the size of the breast.
•     The implants were not placed properly. There are implants that shift while others are placed differently within the breasts which cause asymmetry. This is seen with one breast higher than the other. Other times, the breast has an unnatural look and there are times that the implants seem separated from the breast which gives a bubble look.
•     The implants may have ruptured. For saline implants, the breast will have a deflated look but on the silicone implants, it is difficult to notice it there is any leak.

A person who had undergone breast surgery involving augmentation may not be prevented from experiencing all of these issues if the surgeon that will perform the procedure is well qualified, experienced and has all the skills required from them
